Jammu and Kashmir police activated the National General Emergency Response System, Dial 112, today for immediate assistance to people during emergencies through a single helpline.
The police said the service is available through all police stations across the Jammu zone, and the public has been urged to make full use of the facility in case of any emergency, including fire, medical, women’s help and disaster-related information.
The service will provide people with a single number to seek immediate assistance during various emergencies, including police help, medical emergencies, fire incidents, women-related emergencies and disaster situations.
Officials urged the public to make use of the facility whenever urgent assistance is required.
The police have also launched an awareness drive through posters carrying the message: “In case of an emergency, anytime, anywhere, Dial 112 for immediate assistance.”
