YEIDA says drainage system at Jewar airport remained fully functional during heavy rainfall.
In Uttar Pradesh, Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority has clarified that there was no waterlogging on the Jewar International airport’s runway or apron area.
Regarding the issue arising from rainfall in the Jewar area where Noida International Airport is located, Rakesh Kumar Singh, Chief Executive Officer of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), said that the drainage system remained fully functional in the critical areas related to airport operations.
Due to heavy rainfall, minor waterlogging occurred in the airport’s parking area for a short period. He said that the concerned team immediately took action and cleared the water promptly.
The situation was continuously monitored even during heavy traffic, and all necessary arrangements were ensured. He added that the airport’s infrastructure, runway and apron areas are completely safe.
The YEIDA administration is continuously monitoring the rainfall situation and ensuring all necessary arrangements, with the convenience of passengers and the general public being accorded the highest priority.
