Confident CSK beat KKR by 18 runs in IPL match in Mumbai

Confident Chennai Super Kings beat Kolkata Knight Riders by 18 runs in a thrilling match of the IPL at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai last night.

Put into bat first, Chennai posted the mammoth 220 runs for three wickets in the 20 overs riding on Faf du Plessis’ unbeaten knock 95 runs off 60 deliveries and Ruturaj Gaikwad’s 64 runs off 42 balls.

For Kolkata, Varun Chakravarthy, Sunil Narine and Andre Russell picked up a wicket each.

Chasing the big target, KKR were bundled out reaching at 202 in 19.1 over with help of Andre Russell’s 54 off 22 and Pat Cummins’s not out 65 off 34.

For CSK, Deepak Chahar picked up four wickets while Lungi Ngidi took three wickets.

Earlier in an another match, Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Punjab Kings by nine wickets in Chennai.

Punjab were bowled out for 120 by Hyderabad as Khaleel Ahmed scalped three wickets and Abhishek Sharma took two dismissals.

In Reply, Hyderabad easily chased down the target in 18.4 overs with the help of Jonny Bairstow’s 63 runs and David Warner’s 37 runs.

Today, Royal Challengers Bangalore will take on Rajasthan Royals at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai at 7:30 pm.
