India’s Coronavirus recovery rate rises to 64.23 percent

Notwithstanding India’s single-day spike of 47,704 positive cases and 654 deaths in the last 24 hours, the recovery rate among patients has also increased to 64.23 percent, according to the data by the government on Tuesday.

The total Covid-19 positive cases stand at 14,83,157, while the recoveries/deaths ratio is 96.6:3.4 (in percentage) now. Meanwhile, the government has conducted over 10 lakh Covid-19 tests in the past two days, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

In related news, human clinical trials of Covid-19 vaccine ‘Covaxin’ commenced at Institute of Medical Sciences and SUM hospital in Bhubaneswar. The Post-Graduate Institute (PGI) of Medical Sciences, Rohtak, AIIMS Delhi and Patna are among the 12 sites that have already started human trials.
