IMD forecasts widespread rainfall across the country in next 2 to 3 days.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast widespread rainfall across the country for the next two to three days as the southwest monsoon advances, while heatwave conditions continue to persist in parts of north and central India.

According to IMD, the central Arabian Sea, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, parts of Telangana, remaining parts of Tamil Nadu, Southwest Bay of Bengal, North Bay of Bengal, and Northeastern states have favourable conditions for the advancement of monsoon during the next two to three days.

Coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Mahe, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim are expected to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall tomorrow. The weather agency has predicted heavy rainfall over the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Interior Karnataka, Konkan, Goa, Lakshadweep, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal and the Northeastern states tomorrow.

Meanwhile, the Met Department has forecast heatwave conditions over Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, West Rajasthan and Coastal Andhra Pradesh for the next four days. Northwest India and Central India are likely to experience a rise in maximum temperatures by two to six degrees Celsius over the next three days.
