Three new Ministers were inducted into the Puducherry Cabinet today, completing the long-awaited expansion of the Council of Ministers.
All India N.R. Congress MLAs P. Rajavelu and V. P. Sivakolundhu and BJP MLA G. N. S. Rajasekaran were sworn in as Ministers at a ceremony held at Lok Nivas. Lieutenant Governor K. Kailashnathan administered the oath of office and secrecy.
Chief Minister N. Rangasamy, Ministers, legislators and senior officials attended the function and later congratulated the newly inducted Ministers.
Chief Minister N. Rangasamy and two Ministers – BJP leader A. Namassivayam and All India N.R. Congress leader Malladi Krishna Rao had taken the oath last month. With the induction of the three new Ministers today, the expansion of the Puducherry Cabinet has been completed.
Meanwhile, the newly elected Puducherry Legislative Assembly is yet to meet for its first session. The election of the Speaker and Deputy Speaker for the assembly also remains pending.
