Several States/UTs impose night, weekend curfews to check spread of Coronavirus

In view of the increasing cases of corona infection, Chhattisgarh government has issued new guidelines to check spread of infection.

According to these guidelines, in districts where test positivity rate is 4 percent or more, there will be a ban on non-commercial activities from 10 pm to 6 am.

Uttar Pradesh government has announced measures to curb the spread of covid infection in state. All schools till class 10 in the state will be closed till 14th January. Night curfew has also been extended for two more hours. The new guidelines will be effective in state from tomorrow.

Meanwhile in Uttar Pradesh, in a crucial meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath a slew of measures were taken to curb the Covid infection which is increasing day by day in state. About 992 new covid cases have been found in state in last 24 hours which is highest number of covid cases found in a single day in recent months. Total 23 patients are infected with omicron variant of Covid.

As per the new guidelines now night curfew will be effective in state from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Strict guidelines have been issued for those districts of the state where number of the covid infected patients crosses 1000 mark. Although There is no such district in the state right now.

In such districts only 100 people will attend any social gathering like marriages. All gym, spa restaurants and other sach centres will open with 50% of their capacity in such districts.

Covid helpdesks will be activated in all factories, religious places, offices and other institutions and no person will be allowed to enter into the premises of such places without sanitization or screening.

All those devotees who want to attend magh Mela at Prayagraj will have to carry rt-PCR negative test report taken not less than 48 hours before.

Bihar government will impose night curfew from 10 pm to 5 am from tomorrow till 21st of this month. However, essential activities will be permitted during these hours.

The decision to this effect was taken at crisis management group meeting headed by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. As per guidelines, gyms, parks, malls, religious places, cinema halls and swimming pools and stadium will be closed till further orders.

All shops and business establishments will be open till 8 pm. Schools upto Class 8 will remain closed till January 21.

Government and private offices will function with fifty percent attendance. Restaurants will also function with fifty percent capacity. Marriages and funerals will be allowed with fifty persons only.

In Andaman and Nicobar Islands, night curfew has been imposed with no movement allowed after 9 PM to 5 AM except in emergency case. Schools are directed to organize classes on alternate days for VII to IX standard.

Classes of I to VI has been suspended for two weeks. Ferry services in Port Blair are also curtailed to in view of night curfew.
