In Madhya Pradesh, a large number of devotees are reaching Ujjain to offer prayers to Lord Mahakal on the fourth and last Monday of Shravan.
The Mahakal Temple opened its doors at 2:30 AM. Lord Mahakal was first bathed with Panchamrit and then decorated with sacred ash.
The idol was decorated with a silver crown, trident, Rudraksha garland and flowers. Long queues of devotees started forming at the temple from around 3 AM.
The Mahakal procession will leave the temple at 4 PM today. Lord Chandramouleshwar will be placed in the palanquin. Different forms of Lord Shiva will be seen on the chariots.
The procession will start from Mahakal Temple and reach Ram Ghat. At Ram Ghat, Lord Mahakal will be worshipped with water from the Shipra River.
