Punjab Extends Cleanliness Campaign 2.0 Till September 12.

The Punjab government has announced the extension of the state-wide ‘Cleanliness Campaign 2.0’ till September 12.

This decision has been taken by the government after receiving an overwhelming public response and resolving 83% of civic grievances since the launch of the 10-day campaign on August 29th.

To institutionalise direct citizen participation in this drive, four mega Saturday cleanliness drives have also been announced across all 166 Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) of the state.

These ULBs include 14 Municipal Corporations and 152 Municipal Councils and Nagar Panchayats.

These drives will be organised in collaboration with NGOs, market associations, youth clubs, religious organisations and Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs).

Punjab Local Government Minister Harjot Singh Bains informed the media that 100 per cent door-to-door garbage collection is being started in the state soon.
