Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis unveils Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj statue at Navi Mumbai Airport.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis inaugurated a 20-foot statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at the entrance of Navi Mumbai International Airport on the occasion of the Coronation of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Day on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said, the day symbolises global recognition of Hindavi Swarajya and would serve as a source of inspiration.

He said the state government will continue to pursue with the Centre the proposal to name the Navi Mumbai International Airport after leader D.B. Patil.

The 20-foot bronze equestrian statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj has been installed at the airport, which became operational last December. Calling the Coronation Day a sacred occasion, the Chief Minister said it marked the global acceptance of Hindvi Swarajya.
