Dense to very dense fog occurred today at a few places over west Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places over Uttarakhand, Punjab, East Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. Indian Meteorological Department said cold day to severe cold day occurred at most places over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and at many places over Uttar Pradesh.
Cold wave to severe cold wave occurred at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.
Met department said the lowest minimum temperature observed in the plains of Northwest India was 1.6 degrees Celsius recorded at Fatehpur in Rajasthan. It said there will be a gradual rise in minimum temperatures by 2 to 3 degrees over the plains of Northwest India during the next seven days.
