Prime Minister Modi in Gujarat. Declares Modhera as India’s first Solar Powered village, to further launch projects in Bharuch and Jamnagar.

Prime minister Narendra Modi will dedicate to the nation and lay the foundation stone of projects worth around ₹1,450 crore in Jamnagar. These projects relate to irrigation, power, water supply and urban infrastructure.

PM Modi, who is on a three-day visit to Gujarat from Sunday, will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of various development projects in Gujarat on Monday. He also declared Modhera, a village in the Mehsana district of the state, as India’s first solar-powered village.

Modi’s day 2 will start with the inauguration of Phase 1 of Modi Shaikshanik Sankul, an educational complex for needy students, in Ahmedabad which aims to provide facilities to students for holistic development.

PM Modi will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of projects worth over ₹8,000 crore in Amod town of Bharuch district.

He will lay the foundation stone of Bulk Drug Park at Jambusar. In 2021-22, bulk drugs accounted for over 60 per cent of total pharmaceutical imports.

On his first day of visit, he said that “Modhera, which is associated with the Sun Temple will also be known for its strides in solar energy. It’s a big day for Modhera as it takes a giant leap towards harnessing solar power.”

The Prime Minister further went on to say that Modhera has become an example for the entire nation for amalgamating new technology with our glorious heritage.

“For the 21st century Aatmanirbhar Bharat, we need to ensure that renewable energy powers our energy needs. The transformation that is being witnessed in Modhera, is present and seen in the entire state of Gujarat,” PM Modi said.
