Saying that the government is always ready to hold talks with farmers, Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur on Sunday added that senior Ministers have held not one but 11 rounds of meeting with the farmers’ unions to address their issues.
Talking to media in Bengaluru, Mr. Thakur said, the government is always ready to hold talks with the farmers.
He listed out several steps being taken by the Central government towards the welfare of farmers. He said, Narendra Modi government has increased Minimum Support Price (MSP) and procured more agricultural produce on MSP and also kept the prices of fertilizers under control.
The Minister said, the Central government transfered 1.5 lakh crore rupees directly into the bank accounts of farmers under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme.
