Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu today held a teleconference with Collectors of rain-affected districts in the state and reviewed the situation.
He directed district administrations to remain fully alert, as rainfall is expected to continue today and tomorrow due to a deep depression over the Bay of Bengal. Officials were asked to visit affected areas and take necessary measures to restore roads and power supply wherever disrupted.
The Chief Minister directed officials to remain alert and, if necessary, evacuate people in landslide-prone areas. He also asked them to monitor flood levels, prevent breaches in irrigation tanks and respond promptly to requests for assistance from the field.
He instructed officials to establish control rooms, collect public feedback through IVRS and promptly clear uprooted trees to ensure smooth traffic.
