Heavy rainfall has disrupted normal life across Uttarakhand. The Char Dham Yatra routes have been blocked at several locations due to landslides.
Keeping the safety of pilgrims in mind, the Char Dham Yatra has been suspended until tomorrow. The pilgrimage will resume once weather conditions improve.
Meanwhile, continuous rainfall has caused the water level of major rivers in the state to rise. Landslides and debris have disrupted traffic on several major roads and rural link roads in the hilly regions.
The state government is closely monitoring the situation and disaster response and rescue teams have been kept on alert in vulnerable areas.
The India Meteorological Department has also issued a warning of heavy rainfall in several districts of the state today.
