Union Minister of State for Science and Technology, Jitendra Singh, emphasized that the Central Government is prioritizing the health of the nation’s citizens, with a focus on promoting affordable healthcare and indigenously developed treatment methods.
The Minister was speaking at the inauguration of a new building at the Sree Chitra Thirunal Institute of Medical Sciences in Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala, which was built under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY).
The Minister highlighted that the PMSSY aims to bridge the gap between urban and rural areas in providing affordable healthcare. A video message from Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, JP Nadda, was also shared at the event.
The event was attended by Union Minister Suresh Gopi, State Health Minister Veena George, and MP Shashi Tharoor.
