In a move to strengthen India’s foothold in the West Asian organic market, the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), under the Ministry of Commerce of India, showcased a strong Indian presence at the 22nd Middle East Organic & Natural Products Expo in Dubai. APEDA coordinated the participation of 18 Indian companies, including 12 under its banner and 6 participating independently. These companies exhibited a wide array of value-added organic and natural products at the Indian Pavilion. The event, held at the Dubai World Trade Centre, witnessed significant growth this year, with over 550 exhibitors—a remarkable 83% increase from the previous edition.

To foster business connections and explore export opportunities in the Weast market, APEDA also organised a buyer-seller meet, which attracted approximately 40 participants, including Indian exporters and international buyers. Special focus was given to millets, organic tea, spices, and other value-added organic products. During the three-day event, APEDA also extended wet sampling of its special Indian cuisines made out of Indian organic ingredients.

As part of its efforts to boost the visibility of Indian organic products, APEDA collaborated with Lulu Retail Chain in Al Barsha, Dubai, to launch a dedicated section for Indian organic produce. This specially branded area features both processed products and fresh fruits and vegetables, marking a significant milestone in expanding the reach of premium Indian organic goods in the region.

West Asia is recognised as one of the world’s fastest-growing markets for sustainable products. Manufacturers and distributors of speciality tea, coffee, food and beverages, food ingredients, beauty products, health supplements, dry fruits, confectionery, fresh produce, and organic fertilisers were actively seeking business opportunities during the expo.
