World leaders and foreign missions extended Independence Day greetings to India today, praising its democratic journey, civilisational heritage and expanding role in regional and global cooperation.
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio highlighted strengthening ties between India and the United States, while Singaporean President Tharman Shanmugaratnam cited growing cooperation in skills, digitalisation, sustainability and advanced manufacturing.
Israeli Ambassador Reuven Azar, Argentine Ambassador Mariano Caucino, Sri Lankan High Commissioner Mahishini Colonné, Nepal’s embassy, the French Embassy, Australia’s deputy high commissioner and Canada’s high commission also conveyed greetings, emphasising India’s heritage, diversity, economic potential and growing bilateral ties.
Former Maldivian President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and Maldives National Party President Mohamed Nazim praised India’s development and its close partnership with the Maldives.
This year’s celebrations highlighted 150 years of the national song “Vande Mataram” and the aspirations and contributions of India’s youth toward building a developed India by 2047.
