Turkish President says he is willing to serve as mediator between Ukrainian and Russian presidents

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Turkey is ready to do what it can to end the crisis between two friend countries which it neighbours in the Black Sea. He said he emphasized once again during his talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that Turkey can host a summit at the leaders level or technical level.

Earlier Erdogan had traveled to Ukraine for talks with Ukrainian President Zelensky over the ongoing tensions with Russia in the area. He had a four-hour-long meeting with Zelenskiy.

Meanwhile, Erdogan and his wife, Emine, have tested positive for Covid-19. He said on Twitter that the couple had contracted the Omicron variant of the coronavirus and were experiencing mild symptoms. The Turkish President said, they will continue to work at home.
