Northern Lights to be visible today

Stargazers will be given yet another chance to catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights in Scotland this weekend.

The Met Office’s space weather team is anticipating the nighttime spectacle to be visible in northern parts of the country tomorrow evening.

Forecasters say that this is the result of a solar eruption that was recorded on Wednesday, March 16.

The lights will be created by the subsequent space radiation hurtling towards Earth, which causes a coronal mass ejection – or CME.
