Korean Airbus A330 overshoots Runway during landing in Philippines.

Despite landing inclement conditions in the central Philippines, a Korean Air plane overshot the runway, but none of the 173 passengers on board were hurt, according to authorities.

Late on Sunday, the incident happened on Mactan Island in the heart of Cebu province.

Emergency slides were utilised by the 162 passengers and 11 crew members of Korean Air flight to leave the wrecked aircraft, according to authorities and the airline.

According to a statement from the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines, ‘all passengers are safe and are being attended by ground staff.’

At the end of the only runway at the Mactan Cebu International Airport, the plane was still stranded in the grass.

The plane’s nose sustained significant damage, and its front underbelly was torn off.
