European Union has urged China to immediately reverse the decision to disqualify elected legislators, calling it a severe blow to Hong Kong’s autonomy.
In a statement, European Union said that latest arbitrary decision from Beijing further significantly undermines Hong Kong’s autonomy under the ‘One Country, Two Systems’ principle. It added that the latest steps constitute a further severe blow to political pluralism and freedom of opinion in Hong Kong.
