The sacred Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath in Odisha’s Puri attained a significant spiritual milestone today as the majestic chariots of Lord Balabhadra, Devi Subhadra and Lord Jagannath completed their ceremonial journey along the Grand Road, reaching ‘Saradha Bali’, the revered precinct near which the Shree Gundicha Temple is situated.
The second day of the world-famous chariot festival witnessed an extraordinary congregation of devotees from across the country and abroad, who thronged the holy city to witness the divine spectacle amid chants of hymns and devotional fervour.
With the arrival of all three chariots at Saradha Bali, preparations are now underway for the ‘Adapa Bije’ ritual, which will be observed tomorrow in accordance with centuries-old temple traditions.
During the sacred ritual, the Holy Trinity will ceremonially enter the Shree Gundicha Temple, where the deities will reside for the prescribed period before the commencement of the return journey, known as Bahuda Yatra.
Elaborate security arrangements, meticulous crowd management and emergency response mechanisms remained in place throughout the day to ensure the smooth and orderly conduct of the grand spiritual congregation.
