India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red warning for extremely heavy rainfall over Assam and Meghalaya today.
The IMD has also issued an orange-colour warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall conditions over Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Odisha, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand for the day. Meanwhile, Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh are expected to witness heavy rainfall for the next two days.
According to IMD, similar conditions are also likely to prevail over Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Jharkhand, Kerala, Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Andaman and Nicobar Islands till 7th. of this month. In North-east India heavy rainfall is likely to prevail over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, till tomorrow.
The weather agency has forecast thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds over Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Mahe, North Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal and Telangana today.
Similar conditions are also expected over Bihar, Karnataka, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, West Bengal and Sikkim during the next two days.
