Defence Minister Rajnath Singh today informed that India and China have agreed for disengagement on the North and South bank of Pangong lake in Eastern Ladakh. Giving a statement in the Rajya Sabha, Mr. Singh assured the nation that India has effective counter deployment at LAC.
The Defence Minister said that China has been informed that trying to unilaterally change the status quo is unacceptable. Amidst thumping of benches in the house, Mr. Singh emphatically said there will be no compromise on India’s sovereignty.
The Minister said, both the sides committed to maintain bilateral ties. He said, China attempted repeated transgressions last year, but India has always rejected China’s claims and has maintained that bilateral ties can only be achieved only through cooperation from both the sides.
