PM to hold COVID-19 review meeting with chief ministers today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday will hold a meeting with the chief ministers of eight states/UT to review the coronavirus situation in the wake of rising infections in the country.

The Prime Minister will hold meetings with the Chief Ministers of Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, and Kerala via video conferencing.

During the meeting, PM Modi is expected to review the current Covid-19 situation in the states/UT while also analyse the distribution capacity of states when a vaccine comes up.

The Prime Minister had on Friday held a meeting with top officials including those from the Centre’s think-tank NITI Aayog on India’s strategy for developing a vaccine and making it accessible to the masses.

“Held a meeting to review India’s vaccination strategy and the way forward. Important issues related to the progress of vaccine development, regulatory approvals, and procurement were discussed,” PM Modi tweeted.
