Home Minister Amit Shah has said that the government has decided to re-open the Shri Kartarpur Sahib Corridor from today. He said, it will benefit large numbers of Sikh pilgrims.
Mr. Shah said, this decision reflects the immense reverence of Modi’s government towards Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji and Sikh community. He said, the nation is all set to celebrate the Prakash Utsav of Shri Guru Nanak Dev ji on 19th of this month.
Home Minister Amit Shah held review meeting with officials to expedite resumption of the operation of the Corridor.
Pilgrimage through the Shri Kartarpur Sahib Corridor would be facilitated as per existing procedures and adherence to Covid protocols. The operations at the corridor had been suspended since 16th of March of last year due to Covid-19 pandemic.
India had signed an agreement with Pakistan on 24th October in 2019 on the modalities for operationalization of the Shri Kartarpur Sahib Corridor at Zero Point, International Boundary, Dera Baba Nanak.
