IMD forecasts heavy to very heavy rainfall over Konkan, Goa, Maharashtra, Odisha and Rajasthan.

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall over Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Odisha and Rajasthan today. According to IMD, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Chandigarh, Delhi, Haryana, Gangetic West Bengal, Coastal Karnataka and some parts of Northeast India may experience heavy rainfall for the day.

The Met Department also predicted thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty wind over Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Interior Karnataka, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, 

According to the IMD’s All India Weather Summary and Forecast Bulletin issued at 8:36 am IST on July 25, active monsoon conditions are expected to persist over northwest, central, eastern, western and northeastern India.

Multiple weather systems, including a low-pressure area over southwest Rajasthan and another newly formed low-pressure area over the northwest Bay of Bengal adjoining the Gangetic West Bengal–north Odisha coast, are expected to keep rainfall activity vigorous during the coming days.

For July 25, Gujarat has been placed under the highest level of rainfall concern, with the IMD forecasting heavy to very heavy rainfall accompanied by isolated extremely heavy rainfall. Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Odisha and Rajasthan are also likely to witness heavy to very heavy showers during the day.
