Centre delivers 730 tonnes of oxygen to Delhi; CM Arvind Kejriwal expresses gratitude

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has expressed his gratitudes towards the Central Government for delivering 730 tonnes of Oxygen to the city Government. Addressing the media, Mr Kejriwal said, Delhi needs 700 tonnes of Oxygen daily and if the quantity is ensured per day then more Oxygen beds will be created than the existing capacity.

He said, due to the shortage of Oxygen, several hospitals including the government’s hospitals had to reduce the beds. Mr Kejriwal appealed to the hospitals to now restore the number of beds as per the earlier capacity as the government is expecting to get the required quantity of Oxygen per day.

He said, If the city government gets an adequate supply of Oxygen, then it will be able to set up 9000 to 9500 Oxygen beds. On vaccination, Mr Kejriwal also urged the people to get vaccinated at vaccination centres. He said, so far 35.74 lakh vaccine doses have been given to the eligible people.
