Tirath Singh Rawat to be the new Chief Minister of Uttrakhand

Tirath Singh Rawat will be the new chief minister of Uttarakhand, It was decided in the meeting of BJP Legislature Party in Dehradun today. Mr. Rawat will meet governor Baby Rani Maurya soon to stake a claim to form the government. Mr. Rawat and a few ministers may take oath in the evening.

Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat a day after stepping down from the post of Chief Minister, Sh. Tirath Singh Rawat has been declared as the new Chief Minister of the state. Shree Rawat is a Member of Parliament from Pauri Garhwal. He has headed the state unit of the BJP in the past and has been a state legislator. He was the first education minister after the formation of the Uttarakhand state in 2000 as he was a member of the Uttar Pradesh legislative council. In 2012, he was elected as a legislative assembly member and in 2013 he became Uttarakhand BJP Chief. As per Reports, Tirath Singh Rawat was chosen because he has a clean image and has not been involved in coterie politics. Mr. Rawat after being chosen CM of the hilly state said that he will continue to take forward the development works done by the Trivendra Rawat government in the last few years. He said that he has never seen such development in the previous decades in Uttarakhand.
