West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari has called upon the people of the state to work together to build a more developed, prosperous and brighter West Bengal.
In his Independence Day address through Akashvani Kolkata this morning, Mr Adhikari extended his greetings to the people of the state on the 80th anniversary of Independence. He paid tribute to the freedom fighters whose sacrifices made India’s independence possible.
The Chief Minister said the sacrifices of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee, Khudiram Bose, Matangini Hazra, Pritilata Waddedar and Binoy, Badal and Dinesh teach us that independence is not merely a political victory, but a sacred commitment to take the country forward.
He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set the vision of a developed India by 2047, and West Bengal will play a key role in making this vision a reality.
Mr. Adhikari said his government is committed to create new opportunities for the youth, empowering women and ensuring development in education, healthcare, agriculture and industry.
