Telangana Governor attends Saddula Bathukamma celebrations in Hyderabad.

Telangana Governor Shiva Pratap Shukla has said Telangana is the birthplace of dreams. The Governor and his wife attended the Saddula Bathukamma celebrations on Tank Bund on Sunday as chief guests.

He extended heartfelt greetings to Telangana people at home and abroad. He described Bathukamma as a living symbol of Telangana’s rich cultural heritage, women’s strength and deep reverence for nature.

He praised the mothers and sisters who have preserved this tradition for generations. Referring to global climate challenges such as El Niño, the Governor noted that the state has received lower rainfall this year.

He called it a clear warning and cautioned that indiscriminate use of natural resources could lead to a severe water crisis.

The Governor said protecting nature and water is the truest form of worship. He urged every citizen to treat water conservation as a first duty rather than only a government responsibility and to stop water wastage immediately.

He stressed rainwater harvesting, protection of tanks and ponds, and recharging of groundwater. He also appealed to farmers to give priority to crops that need less water and suit local conditions.

Ministers Jupally Krishna Rao and Seethakka also spoke on the significance of the festival. Film actors Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika, consuls general of the United States and Germany, and senior officials took part.
