Former Union Minister and BJP leader Ravneet Singh Bittu has been detained by Punjab Police today after he protested near the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) gate in Ludhiana when Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s cavalcade was passing through the area.
Talking to reporters, he said BJP would continue to raise issues concerning Punjab and would organise peaceful democratic protests outside the Chief Minister’s programmes and offices whenever required.
He said that this is a clear message to the Punjab Government that political opposition cannot be silenced through police action.
Akashvani correspondent reports that yesterday, when he was going to Pathankot to participate in the ‘Nasha Mukt Punjab Yatra’, launched by Punjab BJP, his cavalcade was pelted with eggs by some miscreants near Batala.
