President Murmu, VP Radhakrishnan, PM Modi greet people of West Bengal on Paschimbanga Divas.

President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President CP Radhakrishnan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Union Home Minister Amit Shah have extended greetings to the people of West Bengal on the occasion of Paschimbanga Divas today.

In a social media post, President Droupadi Murmu said that the day marks a significant milestone in the state’s history, reflecting the aspirations and resolve that ensured West Bengal remained an integral part of India.

Emphasising the role of West Bengal in shaping India’s progress and identity, President Murmu highlighted its rich cultural heritage and distinguished contributions to literature, music, art, cinema, science, education, commerce, social reform and spirituality..

She said that this year also marks the 125th birth anniversary of Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee, whose invaluable contribution to this cause will always be remembered.

In a social media post, the Vice President said that on this day in 1947, a historic decision paved the way for the creation of West Bengal as an integral part of India.

He said that West Bengal occupies a special place in the country’s civilisational and national life. Mr Radhakrishan said that the state’s contributions to the freedom struggle, education, science, literature, music, cinema and public life have profoundly shaped the nation’s consciousness.

He asserted that the people of West Bengal, with their creativity, resilience and spirit of service, continue to contribute significantly to the progress and development of the nation.

In a social media post, PM Modi said that this day celebrates a state that has made immense contributions to the country’s history through literature, music, art, spirituality, science, trade, commerce and social reform. The Prime Minister said that this day holds special significance in West Bengal’s history.

He asserted that on this day, it was affirmed that West Bengal would remain an integral part of India. The Prime Minister also highlighted the invaluable role played by Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee in this regard.

Mr Modi said that the central government will jointly work with the West Bengal Government to fulfil the dreams and aspirations of the people. He also prayed for the state’s progress and the prosperity of its citizens.

In a social media post, HM Amit Shah said that West Bengal has played a historic role in nation-building and has made immense contributions in the fields of culture, spirituality, education, science, and social reform.

He noted that Bengal’s legacy stretches from the Bhakti movement to the freedom struggle and the Bengal Renaissance. Mr Shah said that West Bengal, which is a land of luminaries such as Swami Vivekananda, Bankimchandra Chattopadhyay, Rabindranath Tagore, Subhas Chandra Bose and Syama Prasad Mukherjee, is advancing towards reclaiming its heritage and glory under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
