Dense to very dense fog occurred today at many places over Uttarakhand, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi, and at a few places over Punjab and West Uttar Pradesh.
Indian Meteorological Department said that cold day to severe cold days occurred at many places in East Uttar Pradesh and at a few places over Punjab and West Uttar Pradesh. Cold waves occurred at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Rajasthan. There was ground frost at isolated places over Uttarakhand.
Met department said, the lowest minimum temperature observed in the plains of Northwest India was one degree Celsius recorded at Fatehpur in Uttar Pradesh. It said that there will be no large change in minimum temperature during the next four to five days over the plains of Northwest India.
