The newly formed Eknath Shinde government in Maharashtra has won the trust vote and proved its majority. 164 members voted in favour while 99 members voted against the trust vote.
Samajwadi Party’s Abu Azmi and two MLAs of MIM abstained from voting. The test was conducted through headcount after the division of voting was demanded by the members. Speaker Rahul Narvekar announced that the Eknath Shinde government has won the trust vote.
