Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha has announced that the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM), under the Union Ministry of AYUSH, has accepted the State Government’s proposal to establish the Tripura Government Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital at Udaipur, Gomati District.
The institution has been granted approval to admit 60 students from the 2026-27 academic session.
In a message shared on social media, the Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his visionary leadership and unwavering support in strengthening healthcare services and medical education across the country.
Dr Saha described the approval as a landmark achievement for the state. He said the new medical college would significantly enhance Ayurvedic education, promote traditional systems of medicine, and create new opportunities for aspiring students in Tripura.
He also noted that the institution would contribute to improving healthcare services for the people of the state
