Major terror attack averted in J&K as 4 militants killed in 2 separate encounters; 10kg IED recovered

Four terrorists were killed by security forces in two separate encounters that erupted in South Kashmir, Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday evening.

According to Addl. Director General Police Kashmir Shri Vijay Kumar, Lashkar-e-Toiba Commander Mukhtar Ahmad among three terrorists were killed in an encounter at Khandipora village in Awantipora area of Pulwama district. One AK 47 rifle, one AK 56 rifle and one pistol were recovered from the encounter site.

In another encounter at Semthan village in Bijbehara area of Anantnag district, one terrorist has been neutralised by security forces. The encounter was still going on till the reports last came in. Meanwhile, three hybrid terrorists were arrested today by Srinagar police and 10 kgs of Bucket IED and two hand grenades were recovered.

However, IED was being destroyed by the Bomb disposal squad of the J&K Police. Case has been registered in this regard.
