Lockdown in Bihar extended till August 16

Terming the COVID-19 situation in the state as alarming, the home department of Bihar state government has extended the lockdown till August 16.

“The requirement for a lockdown is inevitable and urgent to contain the further spread of the COVID-19 within the state,” the government order said.

During these days 50 percent staff strength in both Centre and state government offices will be allowed. and other emergency services, like electricity, water, municipality, hospitals, will function normally. Essential items’ shops, banks, ATMs will also function normally.

However all educational institutes will remain closed along with all places of worship. There will be no exception, the state government order added.

Moreover, air travel and train travel will be unhindered as mandated by the railways and the DGCA.
