Karnataka Governor invites Congress leaders Siddaramaiah to take oath as Chief Minister

Karnataka Governor Thawarchand Gehlot has invited Congress legislative party leader Siddaramaiah to take oath as Chief Minister and D K Shivakumar as Deputy CM along with team members of the Cabinet. The letter written to Mr Siddaramaiah says that the swearing-in ceremony will be held at 12.30 pm tomorrow in Kanteerava Stadium.

Meanwhile, during the Congress Legislature party meeting held in Bangaluru yesterday evening, Mr Shivakumar moved a resolution to elect Mr Siddaramaiah as the new leader of the Congress Legislature party and all the members in the CLP meeting endorsed it unanimously.

Akashvani Correspondent reports, Elaborate arrangements are being made at Kanteerava Stadium for the swearing in ceremony tomorrow. Former Congress President Sonia Gandhi and her son Rahul Gandhi and daughter Priyanka Gandhi are invited for the ceremony.

Congress National President has invited Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and National Conference Chief Farooq Abdullah.

The CPI(M) leader Sitaram Yechury has also been invited. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu are among the invitees.
