India Railways to resume Banihal-Baramulla train service in J&K from today

Indian Railways will be resuming Banihal-Baramulla train service from today after remaining suspended for eleven months following the coronavirus pandemic.

Chief Area Manager, Northern Railways, Srinagar, Saqib Yousuf, told the media that it has been decided to resume the service and to begin with, only two trains will run on Monday.

Saqib said that the first train will be allowed to move from Baramulla to Banihal at 9:10 AM while the second train will run Banihal to Baramulla at 11:25 AM.

He has asked the public to avoid unnecessary travel and also maintain social distancing while traveling in the trains.

Saqib said that more trains will be allowed to run once the Covid-19 related situation normalises.

Rail services were suspended on March 19, 2020 as Covid-19 cases witnessed surge across the Valley.
