IMD predicts heavy rainfall in three NE states

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall over three Northeastern states. The weather department has also predicted that a low-pressure area is likely to form over the southeast Bay of Bengal this week. According to the IMD, isolated very heavy rainfall is likely to occur over Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal-Sikkim and isolated extremely heavy rainfall over Meghalaya in the coming days.

The weather department further predicted isolated heavy rainfall likely over Arunachal Pradesh on 5th and over Assam, Meghalaya on 5th, 7th and 08th April and over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal-Sikkim during 05th-07th April. Moreover, isolated thunderstorm/lightning activity is also very likely to occur over Assam-Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal-Sikkim from 4th to 6th April.
