IMD forecasts extremely heavy rainfall over Sub-Himalayan Bengal and Sikkim.

The India Meteorological Department has forecast extremely heavy rainfall over Sub-Himalayan Bengal and Sikkim during the day.

According to IMD, isolated parts of Assam and Meghalaya are likely to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall. Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, Coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Lakshadweep, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal are likely to witness heavy rainfall.

The weather agency predicted that Gujarat, central Maharashtra, Marathawada, Saurashtra and Kutch will witness isolated to scattered rainfall till Friday.

The met department said that there will be no significant change in maximum temperatures over Northwest India till tomorrow, and a gradual fall by two degrees Celsius during the next 2 days and no significant change thereafter.

Meanwhile, IMD predicted heat wave conditions in isolated pockets over Bihar and Telangana during the day and East Uttar Pradesh and Vidarbha till Wednesday. Hot and humid weather conditions are likely to prevail over Coastal Karnataka, Jharkhand, Konkan, Goa and North Interior Karnataka during the day.
