The first steel bridge for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project in Maharashtra has been launched over NH-3 (Nashik Highway) at Dive-Anjur village in Bhiwandi in Thane district.
The 100-metre-long steel bridge weighs 1,405 metric tonnes and was installed during night-time traffic blocks to minimise inconvenience to highway commuters.
The National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited said the project demonstrates India’s growing capability to manufacture, transport and install complex steel structures for high-speed rail infrastructure.
Of the 28 steel bridges planned for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train corridor, 16 have now been completed.
