Filing of nominations for first phase of Assembly elections in Gujarat to end today

The filing of nominations for the first phase of assembly elections in Gujarat will end this evening, November 14.

AIR correspondent reports, the process of filing nomination papers for 89 seats in the first phase of the total 182 assembly seats in Gujarat began on November 5. Today, November 14, is the last day for filing nomination papers. Scrutiny of nomination papers will take place tomorrow while names can be withdrawn till November 17. 

Voting for the first phase will be held on December 1. A total of 324 nominations have been filed in the state so far. 

Of these, 316 candidates have filed their nominations for the first phase and 8 for the second phase.

Meanwhile, BJP declared one candidate, Congress six, and Aam Aadmi Party two more candidates yesterday,  November 13. At the same time, Union Home Minister and senior BJP leader Amit Shah discussed the election strategy with senior party leaders at a high-level meeting in Gandhinagar yesterday.
