In Bihar, tremors of earthquake were felt in several parts including Patna, Supaul, Araria, Sheohar, Siwan and other regions this morning.
The effect of an earthquake near the Nepal and Tibet border was felt in Bihar around 6.35 am which lasted for several seconds. Due to panic people were seen outside their houses and apartments. So far, no reports of any damage to property have been reported due to tremors.
The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported the epicentre approximately 91 km from Lobuche, Nepal. According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), the region experienced a series of tremors. The initial 4.2-magnitude quake struck at 5:41 am, followed by the powerful 7.1 quake at 6:35 am. Two subsequent magnitudes 4.7 and 4.9 tremors were recorded at 7:02 am and 7:07 am, respectively.
The tremors were strongly felt in parts of Bihar, prompting people to rush out of their homes and apartments in panic. In Bihar, tremors lasting about 20 seconds were reported in Muzaffarpur, Patna and other districts, prompting residents to share their experiences online.
