The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), Mangalore, has seized 5.75 kilograms of suspected crystal methamphetamine from a passenger travelling by train from Delhi to Bengaluru.
The Ministry of Finance said that a narcotic substance was recovered from the passenger’s trolley bag.
It added that the accused was arrested under the NDPS Act, 1985, and remanded to judicial custody.
It said that the seized quantity exceeds the notified commercial quantity of 50 grams and attracts rigorous imprisonment of 10 to 20 years, along with a fine of one to two lakh rupees.
