The Delhi High Court today directed the take-down of certain social media content found to be defamatory against Member of Parliament from Rajya Sabha Raghav Chadha.
However, the Court refused to pass any blanket interim order for the removal of defamatory content.
Justice Subramonium Prasad ordered for removal of five documents to which Mr. Chadha had objected. The Court held that the present suit does not involve personality rights.
Mr. Chadha had earlier filed a lawsuit in the High Court against the publication of alleged malicious and fabricated social media posts.
He had sought immediate removal and takedown of false, AI-generated and deepfake content circulating widely across social media platforms, calling it gravely prejudicial to his reputation and personality rights.
