In a joint operation, the CRPF and Jharkhand Police have arrested three hardcore members of the banned CPI (Maoist) from Seraikela-Kharsawan district. Inspector General (Operations) Narendra Kumar Singh has confirmed the arrests.
Those arrested include Madan Mahato, carrying a reward of 15 lakh rupees, Ravi Sardar, carrying a reward of 5 lakh rupees, and woman Maoist Meena, who carried a reward of 2 lakh rupees. Security forces have also recovered three AK-47 rifles from the arrested Maoists.
Jharkhand Police headquarters confirmed the arrests. A large cache of weapons, including three AK-47 rifles, was recovered from the trio.
According to police sources, a joint team of the Jharkhand Police and the CRPF received intelligence that active members of the banned CPI (Maoist) were present in the Saraikela-Kharsawan area.
Acting on the tip-off, a special team was formed and an operation was launched. During the operation, security personnel surrounded and arrested the three Maoists.
