BJP to continue its alliance with AGP for upcoming assembly polls in Assam

Ruling BJP has announced that the party will continue its alliance with Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) for the upcoming state assembly polls in Assam. Talking to the media recently, party President Ranjit Kumar Dass said that BJP will fight the polls in alliance with AGP and United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL). He said that the party would form an alliance with UPPL instead of Bodoland People’s Front in the assembly polls.

The BJP and UPPL are the ruling partners in Bodoland Territorial Region. Mr Dass said that the seat sharing issue will be decided in due course by the party’s Central committee in consultation with the state committee.

The State President further said that the party will give tickets to local parties in some seats as they did in the last assembly polls.
